The 12th edition of the Caribbean Premier League gets underway on August 29 and the final will be played on October 6. The matches will be held across six countries – Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago.
A total of 34 matches will be played in the tournament, beginning with a round-robin phase before the playoff and final. This year, there is a new team in the mix as Antigua & Barbuda Falcons have replaced former three-time champions Jamaica Tallawahs, who shut the shop ahead of this season due to a lack of support from the Jamaican government.
The seven venues which will be hosting the matches are Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Kensington Oval, Providence Stadium, Warner Park Sporting Complex, Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, Brian Lara Cricket Academy, and Queen’s Park Oval.
Last year, Guyana Amazon Warriors won the coveted CPL title for the first time after defeating mighty Trinbago Knight Riders by nine wickets with six overs to spare in the final.
