A total of 23 matches will be played in the nation across two different venues, Dubai International Cricket Stadium and the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Meanwhile, the summit clash is slated to be held on October 20 in Dubai.
The 10 teams have been divided into two groups of five, with the top two teams from each group proceeding to the semi-finals, and fighting for a spot for the grand finale. Australia women will be coming into the tournament as the defending champions and the side will be keen on defending their title. One of the favourites of the competition, West Indies (WI) suffered a humiliating 10-wicket defeat against South Africa (SA) in their opening game of the campaign. Captain Hayley Matthews is one of their consistent performers but she flopped in the game and others too failed to deliver. Stafanie Taylor tried her best to give the team some momentum but it was not enough. The bowling unit was disappointed as well.
Next up, they will challenge Scotland on October 6 in Dubai. It is a do-or-die game for the team as another defeat can rule out their chances of qualifying for the semi-final. Meanwhile, the Kathryn Bryce-led side did suffer a loss in their opening game against Bangladesh but it was an impressive effort nonetheless. Sarah Bryce notably made 49* runs while Saskia Horley picked up three wickets.
